Review: How to Talk to Girls at Parties

How to Talk to Girls at Parties How to Talk to Girls at Parties by Neil Gaiman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Unique and with twists and turns, Mr. Gaiman brings to life an interesting view from an awkward shy boy. This graphic novel is beautifully drawn. Each cell is detailed and a work of art. The art matches the slightly bizarre alternate reality experienced by Enn. With Mr. Gaiman, one expects something dark and different. He delivers as the girls in this story are not only hard to understand but a bit scary.

Is this reality or fantasy from a teenage boy's mind? What really is going on? Is he on drugs or could it possibly be true, these girls he's met at a party? For those expecting a cutesy fluffy story, they obviously do not know Mr. Gaiman. There is a lot to discuss about this story but it would give away the plot which I'm reluctant to do. This is captivating tale which pulls a reader in and spits them out a bit disoriented. Recommended to those who enjoy something peculiar.
