BDSM Bedtime Stories Season Two Episode Twenty-Five ~ Kele Moon

Merry Christmas!  Today we have a very exclusive preview from the yet to be published Claiming Eden by Kele Moon.  This is narrated by Sirly Eric.  We also have a short little interview. Enjoy!

La Crimson Femme: There is a rumour that the Domme in the 3rd Eden book is based on someone you've met.  Is this true?  Can you tell us more about this woman?

Kele Moon: Yes, I would say a lot of Circe was based on my friend. She was my first REAL introduction into BDSM. I went to visit her and while I was there she took me out to lunch with one of her subs, who was this very wealthy, very put together guy who sat there over tapas and told me, “When I was young, I used to like bad girls and when I got older it just turned into bad girls doing bad things to me.”

And the first concept of Paul was born.

I was fascinated by the upper class BDSM and Swinger circles my friend swings in. . . Lawyers, Doctors, a lot of politicians and such. . . And her gift to the world is she doesn’t judge. . . She truly is able to let people explore their kinks with her and not only doesn’t she judge. . .but her satisfaction, her joy is taking care of them. She is a care taker. A healer. . . It’s just that this is how she does it and I truly, truly admire her for it. . . She’s very special. . . A lot of Doms have tried to tame her. . . But it hasn’t work yet. . .

HEE!

La Crimson Femme: Ooh, I thought upper class BDSM was a myth.  Rumour has it, that parts of Danny are based on someone you know.  Is this true?  Can you tell us who it is?

Kele Moon: Parts of Danny are based on my husband. . . This was my first book and so a lot of character traits and backstory facts I shameful pulled from him. He is half redneck and half Cuban. . . Which is an interesting combination. . . LOL!

Plus, he has a very strong, control freak personality. . . For example, he won’t fly. . . Because the idea of someone else being in control and basically holding his life in their hands is just not on his agenda. He WILL NOT do it! But he would get his pilot’s license and fly himself. He’s talked about it more than once . . It’s a control issue, not a fear of flying.

So yeah. . . A lot of Danny is my husband. . . Whenever Danny would dig his heals in and Paul or Eve would be ripping their hair out in frustration. I empathized intensely!

La Crimson Femme: So you guys are stuck in Florida forever.  I guess it is rough being stuck in warm weather! What are your thoughts about using people you know as characters in your stories?

Kele Moon: Well as we see above .. . I have done it. . . Many times. . . But in all honestly. . . I don’t think it’s any sort of shameless stealing of someone’s character. . . It’s more a feeling. Something about them that stands out enough that I need to capture it but I don’t think anyone reading would just KNOW it’s them unless I told them. . . And usually, anyone I have “borrowed” from I will always ask. . . And every single one of them have been people I admire. . . Someone I find so vibrant. . . So unique and special that I have to put part of them in the books and usually they come out without me realizing it. . . For example the friend I based Jules on from Book 2 in the Battered Hearts series. . . I was just writing her, unknowingly, and then I pulled back and looked at this pretty blonde, walking into the restaurant in a designer suit, with big sunglasses pushed up on her head and realized. . . HOLY SHIT! I just wrote my friend without realizing it. Even her car was the same. . . They both drive a black Mercedes. I immediately called her and told her and then had to explain that eventually this character was going to have her own book. . . She’s been totally cool with it! I do check first!

La Crimson Femme: Hehe, I think it would be flattering.  Jules was pretty kick ass too.  What is the strangest request you've received from fans?

Kele Moon: I had someone who wanted me to write a fairy book and sent me tons and tons and tons of material on fairies. . . Trying to make sure that I wrote it right. . . LOL! I don’t take requests. I can only write what the mighty muse wants me to write.

La Crimson Femme: Er, what?  They sent you tons of fairy material for you to write about?  How odd.  O_o  What do you do for inspiration?

Kele Moon: I think music is a big inspiration to me. . . My playlists for writing are very important. I spend a lot of time on a playlist for a book to help me write it and then when I’m done those certain songs will ALWAYS belong to those characters because I listened to them SO MUCH writing them. So whenever I hear them afterwards. . . I think of them. It’s fun!

La Crimson Femme: Wow, I'll have to get your playlist for each book.  That would be cool! For some of the BDSM scenes, do you research this?  If so, how?  Or do you try this out?

Kele Moon: Some I do . . . My husband is my research partner. . . I also have several good friends who are VERY knowledgeable. . . The friend I mentioned above was great while I was writing Beyond Eden. . . I can remember there was a big issue with Danny’s whip. . . What kind of whip was it. . . How long. . . We needed one that would cause the damage described. . . And she had a friend who was a whip expert and was able to help. I am VERY lucky to have someone who can always help me find the answers I need!

La Crimson Femme: Hmm, it is very nice to be able to experiment with your husband. You have a day job which cuts into writing stories.  Can you tell us a bit about your day job?  Or is it super-secret?

Kele Moon: Um. . . It’s kinda secret. . . LOL! But I do work from home. . . So that helps. . . I take orders and ship out the products for my friend’s company. She’s a writer too. Hence the secret. We don’t want worlds to collide. The company has its busy seasons. . . So for instance. . . Summer is very slow, which is why I tend to get more done then. . . But the winter is crazy busy . . .

La Crimson Femme: Working from home is definitely a plus.  Well this explains why I can't find you in Winter.  Speaking of getting more done, you have several different series going on right now.  Which one is screaming at you the loudest to be written?

Kele Moon: Well, I have a short story about Tommy, a side character from the Battered Hearts series that has been mentioned and never seen. . . That one is DUE! I need to finish it. . . But as far as what is screaming the loudest. . . Probably Nova’s story from the new Untamed Hearts series. . . I REALLY want to be writing his story, but it’s so many stories back. LOL I’ll probably write chunks of it anyway. I have parts of Tino’s story written too.

La Crimson Femme: Nova! Nova! Nova!  I'm voting for Nova's story.  Or maybe a couple of stories on Nova.  Of all your characters, which one receives the most fan mail?

Kele Moon: Nova. He gets LOTS of fan mail.

La Crimson Femme: HAH!  I guessed that one right.  He's a heartbreaker, for sure.  Is there any hope for a f/f story in the future?  Can it be an erotic one too?

Kele Moon: I’d like to do one with the F/F couple from Finding Eden and Claiming Eden. . . Hopefully it’ll be in the cards!

La Crimson Femme: *rubs hands gleefully* I can't wait to read the F/f scenes.  When you are stuck writing a sex scene, what do you do to get it moving again?

Kele Moon: Sometimes I just have to force myself to keep writing. I listen to sexy music. I watch something that turns me on (Not necessarily porn, it can just be a regular movie that I find sexy) but most of the time. . .It’s just sexy music and raw determination. Sex scenes are always the hardest for me to write. I want to capture a feeling, so I’m very particular about them. I delete a LOT of word count writing sex scenes. . . If It doesn’t capture the right feeling I’ll cut and start again, sometimes five times or more until I feel like it’s going where it’s supposed to be.

La Crimson Femme: Wow, that is a lot of re-writes for sex scenes.  I find them all hawt, so I appreciate them.  Thank you again for dropping by for an interview and providing an exclusive preview of Claiming Eden.  I can't wait for it to come out!
